450 firm///they are 900 new...
all new tubes http://www.carvinguitars.com/products/single.php?product=V3 www.carvin.com The V3's 100% tube signal path delivers pure tone from warm to shimmering to infinite sustain and crunch. Three channels offer expanded tone circuits and overdrives for everything from Blues to Metal. Channels 1 and 2 are identical overdrive channels. However since each offers 3 different Drive settings and EQX Expanded Tone Circuits, you'll be able to dial in numerous variations on each channel. The 3rd channel is the clean channel, but with its own Drive control and 3 position switch, you'll be able to use this as an additional distortion channel as well. The Volume Boost is ideal for leads and solos, kick it in when you need to cut through. Two Smart Loops offer assignable effects to your channels. Simply select your channel and select your Smart Loop. The assignment is saved and recalled when you play through that channel. MIDI offers storage of channel switching, Volume Boost On/Off and Smart Loop On/Off. Built like a tank, the V3's ruggedness keeps you playing night after night. Master Controls - Master volume: Controls output of all 3 channels. Boost or cut your entire rig with one control. - Boost: Add up to 9 dB of volume boost, switch it on/off via the FS44 footswitch and MIDI. - Bright: Boost highs starting at 5kHz for added clarity. - Mid Cut: A unique mid cut helps dial in a master scooped tone from mild to extreme. - Deep: Adds low frequencies at the sub-harmonic level - Smart Loops: Total control of your effects, remembers your effects loop settings for each channel. Just assign a loop(s) to the current channel, Smart Loop™ permanently saves it until you change it. Channel 1 & 2 Overdrive 3 Drive Modes: a) "Center" - a classic rich, open overdrive with lots of headroom. Turning up the Drive knob adds sustain and warmth. b) "Thick" - brings on the chunk with a massive low-end, textured mids and blistering highs. Turning up the Drive knob adds sustain to the highs, grit to the mids with low-end bark. c) "Intense"- the most gain and sustain with notes that leap out with startling articulation. The low-end is deep and percussive. Mids and highs smoothly blend and still cut through. Turning up the Drive stretches the envelope of sustain to the edge. EQX: Toggle between standard EQ and Expanded EQ. This switch opens a wider frequency range for the TREBLE and BASS. Presence: Boosting 8kHz to help cut through. Channel 3 Clean 3 Drive Modes: a) "Center" - a classic rich, open clean sound with lots of headroom. Turning up the drive adds tube warmth and sag. b) "Bright" - adds high end to the preamp, inviting high frequencies to chime and sustain as the Drive is turned up. c) "Soak" - boosts all preamp frequencies. As the Drive is turned up, a vintage snarl emanates from the amp. EQX: Toggle between standard EQ and Expanded EQ. This switch opens a wider frequency range for the TREBLE, MID and BASS. Presence: Boost 11kHz for glassy, shimmering highs. • Location: North Fort Worth

Fun and Excellence at 20% lesson than comparable quality instruction. Mention this ad for $40 off one month of sessions.
Promethean Studios is the premier location in the Metroplex for lessons and bands, at prices 20 percent less than comparable quality instruction. We offer beginner through professional level lessons and bands, for all ages, at all levels, in all styles of music. Guitar, Voice, Piano-Keyboards, Drums-Percussion, Bass, Sax, Flute, Trumpet, Oboe, Ukulele, Mandolin, Praise & Worship, and Songwriting Lessons in the Dallas-area. YOU ARE WASTING YOUR MONEY on lessons unless you have a great teacher with a great program. With excellent instructors and learning techniques students grow at an accelerated rate, cutting their learning time dramatically (and the amount of money ultimately spent on lessons). In our studios, you will have a personable player as a teacher, who crafts our program to enable you to play or sing the music you love, not the music your teacher likes. Our teachers have observed over 100 student lessons, they have learned and follow the Promethean curriculum for their instruments, and have played an average of 15 years. Promethean teachers are career musicians; they’re dedicated players and singers skilled in their art, who understand what it feels like to want to make music. Our methods teach people to become great while having a blast. Our students become musicians and players or singers who like what they’re doing, not just people who take lessons. And they get to play and sing the songs they love while still learning correct techniques. BANDS: In addition to private lessons we offer various styles of bands. Be in a band (4 to 10 students) that plays music you love with other people your age, like yourself, and with a teacher to lead, supervise, and critique. You’ll play cool songs, maybe get a chance to improvise or write a song with the group. Your band will meet once a week for 4 months and culminate in a live performance which will be recorded and you’ll get a CD. All instruments are welcome, not just ones we teach - Guitar • Keyboard-Piano • Voice • Drums • Bass • Winds • Strings!! Styles of bands offered are Country, Jazz, Classic Rock, Classical, Modern Rock, R & B, Praise & Worship, Blues, and Metal. Call 972-422-3362, email us at info@dallasmusiclessons.com, or visit our website at WWW.DALLASMUSICLESSONS.COM for more information. Relocating from Los Angeles to Dallas towards the end of the year, (sooner if the right project comes along) and am looking to get a serious project in the works asap.
I'm 24 years old, have played in signed bands, have toured Nationally, have experience in the studio, experience booking on a local and National level, Have pro gear, have great contacts, and put a lot of emphasis on the live show. Im Very picky about my tone. When it comes to playing... keep it tasteful. I'm thinking something along the lines of Backyard Babies, D-Generation, Turbonegro, Bullets And Octane, Buckcherry, Bangkok Five, Motorhead, ect... but am open. Just no metal, Country, Whatever style Nickleback type bands are, or hip hop. Im looking for everything but bass. Please be at least moderately experienced, understand the importance of when to go all out and when to lay back and just keep it tasteful, have good gear, have a good look, 21 - 28 years old prefered, a team player, down to earth, no drug or alcohol problems (I don't care if you party... just dont let it affect the band), and leave the ego on the stage. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in reply with a bit about your musical history/aspirations, a recent picture or link to myspace, and samples of past work. WILL TRAVEL FOR THE RIGHT PROJECT. Thanks! Brock brockkiemel@yahoo.com www.myspace.com/brockkiemelmusic • Location: DFW (willing to travel)

Ive lost my job and am forced to sell this sweet VINTAGE, ALL AMERICAN Acoustic Control Corporation Bass Rig. ACC 402 2x15 Cab with matching ACC 220 Bass Amp. Do your research, these were used by the greats...umm maybe Jaco Pastorius, John Paul Jones, Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone ring a bell to mention a few. This unit is in perfect working condition, will not be sold seperatly, and is available for pick up or shipping if you forward the fee to cover it. It has all the hard rock, punk, jazz, and blues tonalities you could ever ask for, and with a little compression and distortion, this thing blows away modern metal amps for a third of the price. In 1977 the unit cost more than Im selling it for today...ridiculous. take a look at the 1977 price list ($approx. $700 then which equates to much presently)
Asking Price is $650 firm.
Serious Inquiries only. Do your research. This amp kills....sad to see it go... http://reviews.harmony-central.com/reviews/Bass+Amp/product/Acoustic+Control+Corporation/220/10/1 • Location: Denton-UNT

Melodic Metalposted: November 9, 2009, 04:48 PM

Singer / Songwriter here. prolly wont find anyone on here but i'll try.
Looking to start (possibly join) a Melodic Metal band. Influences that i'd like the band to sound like: kind of a mix between certain styles of Nevermore Type-O-Negative Godsmack Dragonforce System of a Down Tenacious D Alice in Chains Skid Row Yeah yeah, i know a mix between all those bands is REALLY hard to imagine... basically, i'd like a very Heavy Metal core sound. with lots of melodic riffs within, like acoustic guitar, spanish sytle, asian, indian, persian, whatever sounds bad ass. very creative and not what people around here are used to hearing... now i dont want it to sound like some indian tribal chant or anything (no offense to native amercns) just a mix of stuff within the metal. would like lots of guitar lead (shredding... but with direction and style) thick heavy bass with lots of slaps and pops (i want average joe listener to KNOW which instrument is the bass) Lots of tribal/tom sounding drum beats, heavy purposefull riffs. Powerfull Melodic driven Vocals, a scream here n there, range limitless. lots of lows, few accented highs, n everywhere inbetween. lookin for Bass, Drummer, and 2 Guitarists... would LOVE to find 2 lead guitarists... but i'll be lucky if i can find that one. i understand that if you're good then u have an ego... but lets try to use that to pump up the gigs and promote, and not be a jackass. ok, if it wasnt hard enough allready... it gets tougher for me to find people here. Must have pro gear. and you know what that means. big and loud enough to sound fantastic when mic'd Professional Attitude. dont need suit and tie... but no drug, girl, or dramma problems. treat this like a fun as hell job you want to keep. Rock/Metal style look. height/weight proportionate, dress like a fucking bad ass at shows. want to go big, have fun, make money, be dedicated... and most of all... make amazing music. if there are any of you left that read this whole thing, and fit the part and are still interested... please shoot me an email or give me a call. nice practice area, no charge, in Frisco/Little elm area. Music instructor new to the area now taking students- unique methodsposted: November 9, 2009, 02:05 PM

Professional guitarist/bassist/drummer now taking on new students of all ages.
I have developed my own culmination of techniques for beginning and intermediate players, that will have them playing faster and with more confidence. Learn correct techniques and "useful" music theory that I customize to your level of experience and musical style. Whatever your music tastes are Rock, Funk, Metal, Jazz, Country, Folk, R&B, Soul, let me help you reach your goals. I pride myself on teaching you only the information that is useful to you and your desires. I can help you learn how to write you're own songs, how to solo, how to improvise, how to start a band, prepare you to be a performing musician, recording, or in any number of areas that musicians need to know. If you are a beginner, I guarantee that my methods will have you playing faster than instructional DVDs and most instructors, who do not customize their lessons for each student's learning style. Even if you have been playing for many years, but have plateaued in getting better, I can help you move to the next level. You don't have to start over, I just take the information you already know and make it work for you. A little about me: I am 34, and have been playing bass, guitar, and drums for 23 years. I started playing by ear at age 13, performing by 15. As a college student I decided to study music and received a music degree. I have performed hundreds of shows, touring, studio work, including several CDs, music published and placed on TV and movies. I currently perform several nights a week in the Dallas area, literally playing just about any style of music you can think of. Recently I finished a psychology degree, concentrating on learning and memory. I have learned that everyone has their own learning style, and I try to use my background to help you find the best methods that work for you. I have taught students from age 6 to 60. I teach out of my home in the Lakewood/Lower Greenville area, and can work with your busy schedule to find a time that will work for you and your family. Please call or email me for more information on my methods or any questions you may have. Look forward to hearing from you, Brent Marley 512-632-1268 • Location: Lakewood/East Dallas

I am looking to start a new project after having taken about half a year off from playing full time.
I want to play music that makes me want to play my drums. Things like Evanescence, Flaw, Taproot, Trapt, Seether, Stone Sour etc. NO METAL. I've played metal and its not really my thing anymore. Right now I'm really looking for a guitarist to begin writing with, however no matter what you play if you find any of these bands major influences in how you believe modern rock should be done contact me. This is very serious. I am a career musician, I don't necessarily expect you to be too, but please love this kind of music and love what you do. I have very pro gear and really believe that the quality of the instrument matters in the quality of the end product. If this has caught your eye please shoot me an email. • Location: North Dallas/Richardson/Plano

Quasi-industrial rock band seeks drummer. As far as what we're looking for in a drummer, think Foetus, Ministry (between Rape & Honey and Psalm 69), Skinny Puppy, Pigface, Cop Shoot Cop, Thrill Kill Kult, Neubauten and the like. We're also big fans of folks like Rowland Howard and Townes Van Zandt, Alabama 3 and Leonard Cohen. We're all responsible adults (with cars and real jobs), and we'd prefer that you be one as well. We're also open to triggers and electronic components in drum kits, or just giant sheets of metal. We've been rehearsing for a while with electronics, but we don't want to do that live.
