Sr. Strategy Analyst

American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Sr. Strategy Analyst to perform the following duties: Develop reports, proposals, market assessments, business plans, strategic and tactical initiatives, financial performance, headcount needs, network profitability plans and reports, capital expenditures requests, etc. to improve strategic performance, profitability and market presence. Support revenue performance across network by identifying and facilitating opportunities to maximize the value of our sales programs, to improve our market share within agencies and corporates. Formulate effective business strategies using understanding of travel industry distribution, sales channels and strategies. Develop and implement Key Performance Metrics to monitor overall market performance. Define specifications for reporting packages and work closely with Information Technology group to develop or improve performance metrics and to measure capabilities that meet key stakeholders business needs. Develop and apply financial models to evaluate potential pricing opportunities based on forecasted booking volumes, trends and specific accounts. Apply know:how of market insight to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of a competitive situation, develop recommendations and prepare written and oral presentations to senior management of different groups. Work closely with Revenue Management, AAs domestic and international field sales and other commercial teams to develop strategies to drive share and quality of revenue improvements for corporate and agencies accounts and individual routes. Perform strategic review of sales programs, route assessments, business plan development for new routes, cabin configuration recommendations, competitive analysis and development of senior management presentations. Serve as liaison between field sales and head quartered departments such as Network Planning, Revenue Management, Loyalty, Marketing, Commercial Planning, Corporate Communications and others to develop market specific promotions, pricing opportunities and other tactical and strategic activities to drive additional revenue. Interact with other groups including Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Field Sales, Revenue Management and Corporate Communications.
Job Qualifications 13;
Master in Business Administration degree and 2 years of experience in the job offered or as an analyst or manager in revenue management, finance, or operations, and demonstrated experience in: Travel industry, including agency sales model channels; Development and implementation of key performance metrics; Development of market tactical pricing evaluation models and forecasting; data modeling and the evaluation of business proposals and their bottom line impact; Industry benchmark to develop business strategies; Contract negotiation; ERP system knowledge for database management and data structuring; Data tool Diio; Advanced MS Excel and PowerPivot skills to model large amounts of data; Advanced MS PowerPoint skills to present analyses, findings and strategies to senior leadership; Teradata SQL Assistant for data mining; IBM Cognos Analytics tools; Data visualization tool Tableau; Microsoft SharePoint; Using SABRE airline reservation system; Data tool PRISM.
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.:5 p.m./M:F.
