Sr. Object:Oriented Programmer Analyst
Job Description 13;
American Airlines, Inc. has multiple openings for a Senior Programmer/Analyst to perform the following duties: Responsible for the support and development of multiple web based Java applications, portlets, or web services. Develop large:scale applications leveraging J2EE. Design and develop solutions to solve complex problems considering software/hardware capacity and limitations, operating time and desired results. Interface with business analysts, project managers, and other developers, along with internal customers to understand requirements and develop according to business requirements. Analyze problems and provide recommendations for application and system improvements. Work with peers, senior staff, and business analysts to create project specification and determine implementation details. Partner with business to design and develop optimal solutions. Work with a team to create project estimates based on business requirements. Participate in complete project lifecycle up to and including project implementation. Participate as a technical expert in design, development, testing, and debugging new system modules or enhancements to existing application. Establish and maintain working relationships with internal business customers, internal IT support groups, and vendors to achieve project goals.
Job Qualifications 13;
Masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information system, management information systems, engineering, technology, or related field, plus 3 years of experience in application or software development, plus demonstrated experience in: UNIX, Windows, SQL, PL/SQL, Javascript, XML, XSD ,Java, J2EE, Oracle 9i/10g/11g, Eclipse, IBM Websphere RAD, SVN, TOAD, IBM Websphere and Weblogic Application Servers, ANT, and Maven; Airline industry processes: employee payroll generation, scheduling, shift patterns, shift trades, overtime distribution, clock punching, vacation bidding and attendance control; Agile Software development methodology and Rally Agile Development Software; IBM Web:sphere and Weblogic Application Servers configuration management aspect, Application deployment and JVM/Memory tuning; Third party vendor Sabre Airport Solutions products (Staff Manager and Staff Admin); Infors Workforce Management Tool, Workbrain and features, including configuration aspects, Registry, parameters, and security groups; SQL, PL/SQL languages to query and update the database; SOAP based web service development and Java API Axis2; Unix commands and ftp/telnet; and Continuous deployment tools (Hudson and Jenkins). A bachelors degree plus 5 years of experience will be accepted in the alternative.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week/8 a.m.:5 p.m./M:F.
