Overall responsibility for:
Scoping, designing, implementing, and maintaining manual test scripts for the purpose of application checkout, progression and regression testing scripts.
Executing functioning Automation scripts developed by our onsite Automation Team. Working with Developers and Automation team members to ensure adequate test coverage.
Testing user interfaces, web applications and/or web services to identify software problems and their causes.
This position requires excellent understanding of Quality Assurance principles across both waterfall and agile methodologies.
* Functional knowledge regarding Wholesale ASR PreOrder, Order (all REQ Types) and Trouble Ticketing
* Basic knowledge of CABS bills (not necessarily the CABS systems)
* Technical knowledge of VFO, ESB, M6, ViryaNet, Remedy systems.
* ALM/QC knowledge for test execution and defect management.
* This is a hands:on role executing manual and automated test scripts that validate UI functionality as well as End to End functional test scenarios.
* 5+ years experience with HP ALM/QC for test script development and management of all automation artifacts
* 3+ years experience with data driven, keyword driven automation and descriptive programming techniques in support of Automated Test Case execution.
* Ability to establish, modify, move and/or manage test data for various testing scenarios and systems
* Demonstrated ability to analyze requirements and testing artifacts to determine manual test schedules and detailed estimates of work.
* Experience in development of manual test scripts which could be easily understood and transitioned over to the Automation Test Team for development and inclusion in the existing
Automation Test suite.
* Ability to analyze manual test artifacts to include test plans, test cases, to design and develop scripts
* Write software defects from applications under test and assign software developers to investigate and resolve the issue.
* Review software documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance or completeness or to determine gaps.
* Familiarity with validation of UI against backend systems or databases
* Excellent knowledge of SQL and database technologies : design and implementation
* Ability to triage and rerun scripts as needed for troubleshooting of complex issues (network, hardware, software) by using tools such QC ALM, Sprinter and screen shots to help coordinate resolution of issues
* Strong collaboration skills to work alongside different members of a project team
* Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
Experience * 5+ years of experience working in a Telecom manual and/or automated testing environment with project stakeholders, technical contributors, and SDLC end:to:end experience
* Strong analytical, problem solving skills coupled with initiative and accountability. Will need to do research and have strong time management skills
* Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills
* Experience in Web Service testing using XML and SOAPUI is a plus
* Business Knowledge of Telecom Domain, Telecom Wholesale, and applications is preferred.
