Outside Plant Drafter : Telecommunications
The individual in this position is responsible for producing Outside Plant (OSP) CAD work plans, and associated work package documents in coordination with other engineering department personnel. Qualified individuals are experienced in drafting buried, aerial, and underground telecommunications cable systems, have a background in Civil AutoCad applications and have experience with drafting plan and profiles for street cuts and road bores. Candidates must be familiar with OSP Engineering standards, practices, and construction methods. Candidates must have the ability to meet or exceed business unit goals while maintaining quality standards, controlling expenses, and following company and business unit directives and practices.
Cad drawings are meant for Permitting with various agencies. Experience with permitting is preferable. The ability to research for permitting standards is a requirement for this position and the successful candidate must be able to perform, record, and excel at this task.
Skills/Requirements
The successful candidate must meet a majority of the knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience requirements outlined below.
:Deep understanding of communications engineering and related systems
:Previous experience working in computer aided design in AutoCAD
:Previous experience with civil work and drafting plan and profile drawings is a must
:Be skilled in multi:tasking with strong attention to detail
:Basic mathematical skills and calculation skills are required
:Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
:Understand routing of utilities and placement techniques
:Use mature judgment in all aspects of the job
:Ability to develop permit packages (City, State, Rail) etc.
