Assists HIM Quality Review team and Coding employees by streamlining efficiencies, resolving discrepancies, and prioritizing daily job duties.
: Must have successfully completed an approved coding program OR
: Must be a graduate of a Health Information Management program.
: Must have three years of health care experience and/or coding experience.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience:
: May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above.
: Prefer certification or eligible to test through the American Health Information Management Association as one of the following:
o Registered Health Information Management Technician (RHIT)
o Registered Health Information Management Administrator (RHIA)
o Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
o Certified Coding Specialist:Physician Based (CCS:P)
: Must be certified through the American Association of Procedural Coders as one of the following:
o Certified Professional Coder:Hospital (CPC:H)
o Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
Skills or Special Abilities:
: Must be able to demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the revenue cycle.
: Must have knowledge of medical terminology, the human disease process, anatomy and physiology.
: Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of computer software applications including
MS Office.
: Must be able to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
