Responsible for quality management of patients accessing Parkland with a variety of medical and surgical conditions including physical exam, history, assessment, diagnosis, planning and performing specific treatments under the supervision of a physician to decrease complications, expedite recovery and facilitate return to independence.
:Must have a Bachelors degree.
:Must have graduated from a physician assistant program accredited by Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC:PA) or its predecessors.
:Must have active certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or become certified within one year of employment.
:Must have current healthcare provider CPR certification from one of the following:
oAmerican Heart Association
oAmerican Red Cross Rescuer
oMilitary Training Network.
:Must have current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support System (ACLS).
:Must have a current Physician Assistant license from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants.
:Must meet and maintain licensing and registration requirements as delineated by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Medical Staff Rules and Regulations, and Credentialing Policies/Procedures, if any.
Skills or Special Abilities:
:Must demonstrate clinical expertise in a diverse, fast paced practice community of teaching hospital physicians, nurses, therapists, patients, families, schools and social workers.
:Must be organized and capable of monitoring patient progress through a complex healthcare delivery system.
:Must have excellent oral and verbal communication skills to access, record and evaluate patient information.
:Must demonstrate knowledge and skill in meeting age related and handicapped patients needs.
:Must demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors
