Manages and controls all processes related to Patient Registration in the Inpatient and Outpatient and Emergency areas, Financial Counseling and Financial Screening operations and support functions of the Patient Access business unit within Patient Financial Services.
: Must have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
: Must have five (5) years of medical business office or hospital patient access experience, to include two (2) years of experience as a supervisor or manager.
: Must have experience working with a major patient accounting system.
Equivalent Education and/or Experience:
: May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the education and the experience requirements.
: Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS:700.A: National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.
: Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS:100.HCB: Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS 100) for Healthcare/Hospitals or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.
: Must have Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) course certification for IS:200.HCA: Applying ICS to Healthcare Organizations (ICS 200) or obtain within 30 days of placement in role.
Skills or Special Abilities:
: Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of healthcare management.
: Must be able to think creatively and strategically in developing and implementing management procedures, goals and objectives.
: Must have strong diplomacy skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of employees including senior management.
: Must have strong customer service skills.
: Must have proven organization and time management skills.
: Must be able to demonstrate initiative, independent problem solving skills and attention to details.
: Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid Guidelines, JCAHO guidelines as it relates to registration/admitting.
: Knowledge of insurance verification procedures and payor guidelines regarding notification and pre:authorization.
: Must have knowledge of qualifying patients for funding sources.
