The intern will support various teams of the Flight Operations Group: Procedures, Daily Operations, Training, Quality Assurance, Safety and Compliance DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties may include assisting with projects, research, data analysis, presentations and meetings that support the role of the Flight Operations Group.Create forecasting and predictive models for project statues and resource utilizationCreate reports for Leadership that interpret output of raw data processed through analyticsGather information for analysis and reporting to be used in the identification of key metrics and modeling the positive and negative impact on the Flight Operations Group processes and projects.May be asked to assist or work closely with other Flight Operations Groups including: Procedures, Daily Operations, Training, Quality Assurance, Safety and ComplianceWork with department leadership to design and build tools for the team to manage time, cost, resource utilization, and project analysisMust adhere to all Southwest Airlines corporate policies including the protection and security of confidential and proprietary information.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, GED or equivalent education required.Must be at least 18 years of age.Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986. EDUCATION: Progress towards degree in Finance, Business Intelligence, Business Administration, Project Management, or related fieldMinimum junior levelTo be eligible must be currently enrolled as a full time student (minimum 12 credit hours).Maintained 2.75 or above cumulative GPA EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE: Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access)Strong Excel skills preferred (Pivot table, V:lookups, etc.)Microsoft Project skills preferredBasic understanding of root cause and/or trend analysisProblem solving ability and strong written/verbal communications skillsAbility to stay organized and manage multiple and concurrent assignmentsPublic speaking and presentation skills preferred.
