Responsible for defining products included/excluded from our offering, identifying where products are in the life cycle, preparing transition plans accordingly, and devising an overall strategy for the category. This Position will also be responsible for translating strategic vision into marketing and sales initiatives to build and strengthen competitive position in targeted market segments. Provides one of our major accounts with data driven insights to assist in managing a multi:million dollar product portfolio. The role will have dual reporting (Interstate and the account) however all personnel related attributes i.e., salary, benefits, goals and employee reviews are the responsibility of Interstate Batteries.Provides weekly reports on testing, sales and other account specific needs (custom reports)Utilize POS data and other external data sources to manage all aspects of product, placement and price.Participate in joint business planning with customers.Develop and execute a sustainable category and share growth plan.Develop, category management insights to exceed financial objectives.Demonstrated analytic capability : turn raw data into actionable customer insights.Proven track record of collaborating and working with a cross:functional teams (Account Executives, Shopper Insights: and Marketing, Finance, Category Management, Market, Strategy and Planning)Identify where products are in the life cycle and prepare transition plans accordinglyManage the brand in the category at the product level.Identify gaps in product offering and work with to fill gaps by proposing new item additions.Develop best:in:class placement strategy using all available tools.Design catalogs, promo flyers, collateral material, etc.Create and present power points to communicate new products and new product category initiatives, new programs, etc.A Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing or related fields is required for the position, MBA preferred.Certified in Category ManagementExperienced and ambitious leader with a solid track record of delivering insights that lead to incremental revenue and share growth.5 years of account management experience within CPG (highly reputable company with track record of developing top notch sales leaders is preferred).Persuasive and excellent communicator (oral and written) with Customer and Company top management.Strong strategic and analytical thinker with proven capabilities of in:depth data analysis (Nielsen/IRI/Retail link)Strong planning and business management skills with the ability to develop joint business plans and penetrate the customer up to the highest ranksExperience in managing day:to:day relationships and an ability to proactively engage internal and external customersCompetency in Microsoft Office with high ability in Excel and Powerpoint.
