Design Engineer Position Available (Direct Hire) - Dallas, TX
Kelly Services is currently seeking a Design Engineer for one of their top furniture manufacturing clients in the Dallas, TX area.

SUMMARY

As a furniture Innovation and Design Engineer you will create technical solutions for product development, using new and existing technologies. This includes the ability to perform product research, design, evaluation, and prototyping.

Reporting to the Director of Product Development, you will be responsible for:
  • Designing, Engineering & Developing innovative products and solutions
  • Identifying best technologies and tools for our challenging tasks
  • Research and develop new ideas and materials using cutting-edge technologies and techniques
  • Assisting in building and testing prototypes when needed
  • Establishing new technology suppliers and build relationship with suppliers
  • Maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality
  • Applying critical thinking in analysis and evaluation
  • Creating detail and assembly drawings with full understanding of stack-ups and tolerances
  • Generate BOM's when necessary


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proficient in 3D design software, SolidWorks, but also AutoCAD, etc.
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing design & processes
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills and interactive capabilities
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with daily interruptions
  • Flexible to work on multiple and varying tasks at the same time, sometimes with conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to interact and influence others in a positive manner
  • Willing to work extra hours as required
  • Ability to work with power tools and equipment
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Flexible and willing to continue skill development, as well as teach others your skills
  • A natural self-starter who follows his tasks to end


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Education or experience equivalent to a four-year engineering degree and a minimum of six years of product engineering or design experience preferably from the furniture- or related industries.
  • Experience with SolidWorks
