Our client is currently seeking a Application/Deployment Support Specialist. This is a contract to hire opportunity Perform post-sale, on-site technical support on software products. Handle installations, upgrades, testing, and/or maintenance. Provide guidance to clients on function, usage, and operation of products. Possess excellent level of product knowledge. Serve as liaisons between the organization and customers. Convey customer feedback to technical design and engineering staff. Recognized as expert in field, knowledgeable of emerging trends and industry practices. Conducts the most complex and vital work critical to the organization. Works without supervision. Minimum Requirement of seven plus years experience or equivalent education. o Provide technical system and user support by responding to calls, email, and personal requests for technical support of Mac workstations and UNIX servers o Maintain client satisfaction through professional, courteous, and caring service o Document, track, and monitor problems to ensure a timely resolution o Document issues that require follow up with clients o Use remote control tools to assist and control a user's computer to troubleshoot problems o Resolve technical problems and share information with team regarding persistent problems o Assist other System Specialists in troubleshooting difficult or time-sensitive problems o Maintain your knowledge and expertise by learning new and evolving technologies o Contribute to department vision and direction by helping improve technical practices o Perform all system administration tasks on UNIX servers o Manage the server disk utilization and work with user teams to delete and/or archive data as needed o Server OS & patch management kept up to current releases o Provide support to troubleshoot and resolve all server issues, working with vendors as needed o Know when to engage outside support on problems that require an onsite solution from a vendor o Interact with various internal IT support teams to resolve network routing issues, risk management policies and other general security issues. Linux/Unix is very important. Solaris/Oracle with SUN Cluster experience is 1st priority and Redhat Linux as a secondary..
