Job DescriptionAirport Lounge Development (ALD) is looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee the current accounting department. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring general accounting practices, budgeting, developing internal accounting controls, and ensuring that relevant and accurate reporting is prepared in a timely fashion. This is a hands-on position. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Regional Finance Director. The position has arisen due to continued expansion of the business.The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department as well as being proactive in looking at business processes and ways to improve the production of repetitive type reports. Responsibilities include:Managing month end and year end processes;Managing the budgeting and reforecasting processes;General Ledger responsibility;Ensuring appropriate revenue recognition and deferral;Ensuring that all accounts are reconciled, including performing bank reconciliations;Agreeing and reconciling intercompany balances and revaluation of foreign denominated currencies;Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable Functions;Ensuring that Accruals for un-invoiced AP are adequate, up to date and fully supportable;Assisting the Regional Finance Director in creating and implementing policies and procedures to maintain the integrity and accuracy of the Groups financial data and ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulations;Contributing to automation and streamlining of procedures and processes; ability to look at existing processes with a view to making improvements and implementing efficiencies;Maintaining existing data repositories and developing additional repositories that will help the business in its data requirements;Creating new internal accounting policies as needed while ensuring compliance with existing policies;Ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements including State, local and Airport;Managing the various audits of the ALD companies;Training and mentoring accounting staff as needed.Skills, Knowledge & Experience:CPA certification required;Experience managing staff;Degree in Finance or Accounting;Excellent budgeting, financial forecasting and financial analysis skills required;Proven knowledge of accounting principles including best practices in capital assets reconciliations and fixed asset activity;Currently holds Accounting leadership position - Public accounting experience a plus;Strong Microsoft Office skills, intermediate Excel skills a must, Access a plus;Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills;Must have adequate knowledge of GAAP;At least 10 years of progressive experience reflective of the duties and responsibilities of this position;Ability to work in a team environment and independently;Capacity to plan, organize and manage time in a fast paced environment;High attention to detail and accuracyCompany DescriptionCollinson Group is a global leader in shaping and influencing customer behaviour to drive revenue and value for clients.
