The largest manufacturer/distributor of fencing products, has an immediate opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk at the corporate office in Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities include sorting and processing daily mail, person will also perform entry level duties for AP Dept. Clarifies any questionable invoice items, prices, or receiving signatures; obtains proper information and/or data regarding invoice payments verifying financial data for use in maintaining accounts payable records, and provides other clerical support necessary to pay the obligations of the organization.


Match vendor invoices with receiving and purchase orders, check and verify for discrepancies.
Correspond or communicate with Accounts Payable vendors and Master Halco associates, when necessary, to correct or modify invoices and/or receiving.
Code payable invoices with correct General Ledger codes to ensure proper entry into computer system.
Batch process pre-coded invoices, update the balanced postings to the general ledger.
Process manual checks on a daily basis for payment requests that are presented and have been pre-approved.
Respond to telephone calls from vendors on matters relating to invoice discrepancies.


2+ years of cash application or general accounting experience preferably in a high volume environment including deductions and unidentified short payments.

High School Diploma or GED

Desirable skills:
Analytical: Attention to detail and ability to resolve issues and discrepancies.
Computer: Excel and MS Word skills. Experience with JDE or M3 Infor cash application systems a plus.
Scanning and imaging experience
Expresses ideas clearly concisely and effectively; listens and responds appropriately to others.
Works effectively within the Department and cross-functionally as a proactive team member.
